Room 3 Evaluate Dried Fruit

Mrs Dawson held a fruit drying session with Room 3 students on Wednesday.

 

Students learnt how to correctly and safely hold and use their knives to process banannas to dry - using the oven, the microwave and the dehydrating machine.  The mircowave batch was not successful, however both the oven and dehydrated bananna was popular with the tasters.

 

Students then had a large array of different dried fruits to taste, identify and rate.  They each filled in an individual sheet and then as a class collated the information.  The outcome was Apples and Apricots were liked the best and Prunes where the least like dried fruit.
