Term 2 PE/Sport Events

This term is jam packed with sporting opportunities for our students here at LGPS. We have been lucky enough to receive a Sporting School Grant this term to fund NRL Rugby Clinics in our school for 4 weeks run by the local NRL Development Officer Shelley McLennan. There will also be a one-off AFL clinic run by the new AFL Development Officer Jaxon Liddelow.

In PE, the focus for this term is Cross-Country, I am encouraging all students to try their best with a positive “I can do it” attitude. If parents could reinforce this message at home, it would be much appreciated.

Please see below the dates and times of the PE & Sports events this term.

  • Running club on Monday and Wednesday mornings before school from 8:30am for the first 6 weeks of term. All students in Year 1-6 are encouraged to come out to the oval and run some laps.  If parents of PP students would like to accompany them to the running club, they are more than welcome to.
  • Soccer Clinic for Room 7 on Friday May 14th from 11:30am - 12:30pm which will be facilitated by the Certificate II TAFE students.

  • Faction Cross Country on Friday 28th May from 1pm - 3pm for PP-Y6 students.
  • AFL Clinic on Wednesday 16th June for students in Year 1-3 and there will be an optional lunch time clinic for Year 4-6 students.

  • Dance Club will run on Monday mornings before school from 8:30am in Weeks 7-10. Held in the undercover area for students in Year 1-6.

  • Interschool Cross Country Practice will be on Wednesday mornings before school from 8:30am in Weeks 7-10. This will be the only practice time offered to students.
  • NRL Rugby clinic will run in PE lessons from Week 7-10 for students in PP-Year 6.

  • Interschool Cross Country on Thursday 24th June held at Yakamia Primary School. Selected students in Year 3-6 will be invited.

I hope students have fun and enjoy trying all of these PE activities this term.
